Dementia Advisory Service
At ACCG, we are committed to providing tailored support for individuals with Dementia and their Carers. Our experienced advisors offer personalised guidance to help address daily challenges, ensuring you receive the support you need.
Our Services Include:
- Identification of Respite Care: Helping you identify a short break services to provide relief and support.
- Referral to Statutory Services: Support with connecting to Statutory Social Care Services including the Needs Assessment and home adaptation support.
- Care Planning: Personalised Plans to meet your unique needs and preferences
- Welfare and Benefit Application: Guidance on accessing financial support, benefits and grants
- Early Intervention and Detection (MoCA): Strategies to identify and address Dementia early
Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)
ACCG offers the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a cognitive screening test administered by a certified rater. This test evaluates memory, attention, and cognitive skills to detect potential risks of early cognitive decline.
Why MoCA?
Early detection and intervention are key to preserving cognitive function for longer, providing individuals living with dementia a better quality and happier life. The MoCA test helps identify early signs of cognitive decline, allowing for timely support and care.

Dementia Cafe
At the Dementia Café, we offer a comfortable social and learning environment for individuals with Dementia, their carers, and those experiencing memory problems. Our Café features themed sessions designed to address barriers, tackle inequalities, and meet the diverse needs of our community.

Dementia Carers Training
ACCG’s Dementia Carers Training equips carers with essential skills and knowledge to provide effective care for individuals with Dementia. Our comprehensive training covers practical caring techniques, communication strategies, and methods to manage behavioral and psychological symptoms of Dementia. By empowering carers with these tools, we enable them to offer better support and improve the quality of life for those they care for.
What You Will Learn:
- Managing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms: Techniques to handle common challenges such as agitation, confusion, and mood swings.
- Practical Caring Techniques: Hands-on skills to assist with daily activities and ensure the well-being of individuals with dementia.
- Communication Strategies: Effective ways to communicate with individuals with dementia, enhancing understanding and reducing frustration.
